so i have been actively updating my wedding site, looks like im in the mood for weddings again! heehee

well, we went back to dad's village for gawai last weekend - i came back with heaps of mosquito bites - thank GOD now the village is accessible by tar road and the bonus for this year is that we have electricity - this year however we had no water - since its the hot season, perhaps the river/waterfall has dried up - we had to gather the water only in the night time, when everyone else is asleep

other then that, it was great fun! i have not been back for 10 years so the food, the ambience, the people - whoa they actually know how to party! i was too tired as i was helping mom in the cleaning and food preparation

the fiance was sick as he could not stand the heat! blaardy 36 degrees! he had tonsilitis too which he at first thought was swine flu - you see, airline crew live in paranoia because of their job of constantly going in and out of different aircrafts, countries and the contaminated airport

looks like everyone is still partying back home

the best thing is that, since both the sister are not able to make it, my cousin is coming to assist me on my ROM! yeaye!

hence, i signed up with a personal trainer!

wtf, what a waste of money - there goes my wedding fund - its now call save the wife from being fat fund!

and so the planning is on the way - i've decided to pick it up again -wtf? i must organise it as the fiance had mentioned that he will only pay and ATTEND the wedding - fine by me!

as a start, the organisation for the ROM is pretty much done - i have engaged viv to make my invites, place cards and wedding favours - i am still contemplating in making up 4 goody bags for the children - thank God we only have 4 kids to deal with - i am thinking - colouring books so they do not annoy the hell out of us adults - and some sweets to shut them up - i mean some sweets because they are sweet little things - i better start getting my act together

you know the feeling of having your first car - the car that you've bought with your hard earn money? - well my feeling to my car, whom i named sexy is everlasting - as i left my life in Adelaide - i left her as well - she was put up in the market for almost 9 months and finally she was sold to a young aussie bloke - hopefully he doesnt trash her and adores her like i did

i need to move on with my life after sexy!

in the meanwhile, weddings and so many more wedding plans!

ill be meeting viv together with sylvia this evening after work

im engaging viv to make my invites for the ROM since there's going to be less then 10 people

ive decided not to have any wedding favours for the wedding in kuching as the hotel will be providing us with free favours - pfft..im saving the money for a new house

also, we will be having a small cocktail party by the pool in the afternoon for close friends and family - itinerary is still in the progress - im also thinking of having a candy bar at the outdoor reception area where photobooks displaying our pre wedding photo and our journey together will be displayed, together with the wishing tree - i can get the fiance to fly around the world to get cheap candies - why not?

our homework for this weekend will be to make the wedding band at our jeweller and also scout for a florist whom will decorate the ROM area and my bouquet

i am starting to get back into the planning mode

oh shucks, somehow its 6months till the big day - oh i mean 4 months to the ROM and yet, im not feeling the hype - i have given up on planning the big day - wtf right?

i think i should get back into the mode - but nothing is helping because i worry about spendings and like heloo fiance *waving*, *hint* *hint* - you need to pull your weight to in deciding on the decos, cards, gifts, flowers, and so much more

and so, my wedding planner emailed to check if i was OK - i used to be the ON THE TOP kinda bride but lately, i hate to plan - weird but true - i have given up and yikes, i repeat NOTHING is confirmed, NOTHING had been done besides the dress and getting venue booked and getting the photographer and bridesmaid dresses and bestmen's tie and some champagne bubbles and know where to get dresses for the little flower girls - maybe its not that bad after all

to get myself into the wedding planning mode, i've forced myself to googled some pretty pictures to inspire me:

ok now im back into the planning mode - i should spend the whole arvo at work looking at beautiful pictures and stop doing work since i so hate it anyway

and so fitting for my ROM dress went well - we should be able to pick it up end of next week - the fiance's italian made suit is gorgeous and pftt.. ive never seen a groom as worried about his looks for the big day then the bride herself. - the wedding dress designer commented that he's one of a kind - the fiance gets worried about his appearance and tries his very best to match colours with what im wearing - hence, he asked his tailor to make another shirt just for the ROM - pftt.. maybe he is trying to steal my thunder

i also managed to negotiate with one of the other designer to make me my birdcage veil to fit my ROM dress - awesome - i think it was for free too! the other designer is a young girl from my hometown who had graduated from paris - the other reason, why she knew how to make one - cant wait to see the finish product!

my pre wedding photo dress has been altered - we are thinking of taking the photos sometime in july/august

oh did i mentioned, i manage to find a potential ROM shoes

as we had so much time to kill, and i am sick of shopping - thats something new! - we decided to look at houses in KL - we started out with the condos in front of his sister's place - bangsar south - the 4 bedroom condo looks impressive, however the downside is we never realise that houses/condo in malaysia comes in an empty box - unlike in Singapore, once the project or condo is completed, one can move in with a suitcase as the finishing is as good as those service apartments/hotels. i was disappointed - the cost was approximately 1.2 million - the location was excellent as it was right smack in the middle - 10 mins from kl city, 2 mins from klcc, 10 mins from pj area - good for investment for the future - the place can be rented out at a good price due to the location - honestly, i would prefer to live in a condo if we were to move back to kl solely because of security reasons - even my parents place in good old kuching, less dangerous then in kl, had to install a cc tv for security purposes - imagine, getting a house in kl, how dangerous would it be - wtf - and me being alone most days because the fiance will be away most days

our next destination is to look at the house we've been eyeing for - the area is not that fantastic however its closed to the airport - so if we ever decide to buy a place in kl and if i were to work there - the fiance had to commute back and forth - so close to the airport is good! - the area; puchong - we have falled in love with this place - as i am not familiar with kl itself, i am very sceptical - i would rather choose areas such as bangsar or damansara to live in as most of my friends are within the area - puchong however is to me secluded - however, how can 1 not fall for waterville

as we enter the place - security was tight - if no prior appointment was made, the security will deny your entry - so we decided to call the agent and told him we were outside and not from kl itself hence yesterday was the only day that we can view the place - the verdict: its to die for - the place reminds me of the houses in Australia; the safety of the place is not compromise as they have security in the front area as well as you can see them in their buggys (ala the golf course) - there is a club house overlooking the lake with gym facilities - i love the footpaths . i love th park, i love the esplanade - there is also an area where you can park your boat - pftt..- i love the idea of kids growing up in the area - its green and its a house with security features - the ice cream on top is that it is not like any other semi-detached house you've seen in malaysia - the cost: 1.6mil - discounted rate 1.3 mil - equivalent to the condo in bangsar - i am so in love with this place - ill let the picture do the talking

ground floor - a maid room with attached bathroom - pftt-- how lucky - powder room - kitchen and a living room that overlooks the swimming pool

oh, how time past so fast - i am not even fit for my wedding - i claim to go to the gym for a workout - however it does not have any affect on me - wtf?

i bought these babies to help me tone up at home - i hate using these in the gym as there are heaps of hot looking gays surrounding the equipment - how i wish they were straight

i bought it in hope to tone up my flabby arms

now i do at least 100 sit ups

wtf? do you seriously think it would work? - tough luck

anyway, as we are hiring a freelancer to take our pre wedding photos, we will do our own photobook inserting photos we both love - we are also thinking of creating a photobook of our journey together before the engagement and another as a guest book - its the fiance's to do list for the wedding

this weekend, i will be having my first fitting for the ROM dress and also to collect the pre wedding photo dress i bought off the rack- the fiance will have his first fitting for the suit and will look at the bowties he has made for the big day - so exciting!

other then that, this year is a big year as another close girl friend is getting married at the end of the year too - please see her blog if you love reading about us bride to be planning our big day - another online blogger that i have been following for the past few years also will tie the knot at the end of the year - so many weddings! eeks, my older sis will have her second wedding also in nepal and i am still contemplating whether i should go because i simply do not have enough leave - wtf - how exotic!

im still thinking whether i should wear a birdcage veil for my ROM here in Singapore - i am not sure whether it will match the ROM dress - time to consult my designer when i see him this week!

i have also consulted my hair and makeup artist here for the ROM to check whether she can help me put on this birdcage veil as it is rare here in Asia - she said it should not be a problem!

did i mention, i managed to negotiate that the make up artist only charge me $68 for both hair and make up for the ROM? bargain!

now i need to meet up with viv to finalise some details

i HATE what i do - read between the line - wtf

i dread coming to work and absolutly HATE it - please God give me a new job

anyway i havent been doing much for the wedding as we will be meeting the planner at the end of May.

during my trip to KL last month, i've made 4 outfits for the big day - we are thinking of making another outfit for the wedding in kluang instead of recycling - oh well, we need to do a budget check and i have found another design i really like, also made from chinese brocade design so it will be very 'chinesey'

for the 4 dresses;

pre wedding photo dress - white wedding gown i chose off the rack for RM 800
ROM dress is a pink dress with a silver bow tie in accordance to my pink and silver theme for RM 560 including materials - design by Kris from that special occasion
a simple gorgeous white wedding gown with mermaird finishing for RM 2000 designed by Kris from that special occasion
a modern dress made out of chinese brocade to replace cheongsam for RM 560 including materials designed by Kris from that special occasion

all in all, ive spent less then $4000 for all 4 dresses - what a bargain! to those whom are interested in making a dress there; being it a wedding dress, ball/prom gown, bridesmaid dress, dinner dress; it is advisable that you make an appointment as the place is usually filled with people with appointments

a good friend of mine/ ex housemate during college days in perth will be getting married in perth at the end of the year had made a wedding gown for AUD 1600; RM 4200 - apparently the dress will be made in KL - wtf - and yes, im pissing her off with the bargain i have gotten - i am such a bitch - because we are such good friends, our wedding is one week apart, meaning i am not able to attend her wedding in perth and she is not able to attend my wedding in kuching - hence, it is a war now to get our mutual friends to make their way to both weddings

next weekend, i will be doing my first fitting for the ROM dress - man, i have still access weight that i still need to shed - i have tried running and exercising so i'm going to blame my low metabollic rate

so far for the ROM, as it is catered only to immediate family members we are going to have the maximum 16 people - therefore, i am going to personalise the event - i have decided to purchase the wedding invites, place cards and possibly the wedding favours from viv - i have also chosen to purchase the wedding cakes from pink vanilla - the design of the cake will incorporate the design from the cards

anyway, with the wedding in kuching, our planner will organise the day for us - i would love to have nice invites and wedding favours however the amout of guests we have is extraordinary - apparently we will have about 600 - 700 guests - the worse part is, most will be government officials or state ministers hence it would have to be a formal event - wtf

any suggestions on what favours i should give for my event in kuching?

and i have not updated again for donkey years.

to sum, for the wedding, i have and will:

hired a wedding planner - she is awesome - someone who learned how to plan weddings under martha stewart and have lived in the USA for the past years, have a business established in KL and is now trying her luck in a new city - i really love how her ideas intertwine with what i have envision and the catch is, her fees are really cheap! well, at least 50% cheaper then the first one who has quoted me way beyond what the market is offering. wtf right. Kuching is so small and of course one can't friggin lie to me especially when you have friends everywhere
decided to have 3 weddings because we are freaking 'rich' - wtf? pftt..- morale of the story is find someone from the same hometown to cut cost! - we decided to get solemnise in Singapore on 090909 because it was so much easier - getting married in Malaysia is such as hassle - so we have booked, our solemniser for our event here in Singapore and will be having it at flutes at the fort followed by a luncheon - the exact same venue where the fiance has proposed to me; it is strictly a family event - friends can join us to celebrate in our wedding in Kuching held at riverside majestic on the 19 december and another wedding in Kluang sometime in January 2010 - did i mention that getting registered on the 9 of September is special as 31 years ago, my parents had a civil marriage ceremony in London too upon graduation?
planning a road trip next week to KL to meet my wedding gown designer - hopefully he is awesome; am using the same designer introduced by the fiance's sister who had made her dress there - we will be shopping for some stationaries too to make some stuff for the wedding

i am wedding overload!

and of course every little details comes with a cost - so no shopping nor holidays for me this year!
